Northern Cyclones to Play For National Championship Today
Date: Mar 29, 2015
BOSTON, Mass. – As the 2014-15 season moves toward conclusion the Eastern Hockey League has announced its First and Second Team All-Stars, as voted upon by the EHL head coaches.
The regular season champion Philadelphia Little Flyers and North Division champion New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs placed three players on the All-Star Teams while no other EHL team placed more than one player.
The voting of the head coaches mirrored the results in that statistical columns as the top three scorers – Jon Ruiz, Frankie Cefalu and Brent Beaudoin – make up the forwards on the First Team. The EHL’s top two scoring defenseman – Cameron Dineen and Gabe Chuckran – make up the First Team’s defensive corps. In goal, Trevor Micucci and Simon Leiva led the league in almost all statistical categories.
Both all-star teams are listed below. The EHL individual awards will also be announced each day this week.
The EHL playoff championship series featuring the fifth-seeded Connecticut Oilers and the third-seeded Northern Cyclones will kick off this weekend in a Best-of-Five format to determine who advances to the USA Hockey National Tournament.
