Date: Mar 29, 2015
BOSTON, Mass. -- Philadelphia Jr. Flyers' forward Jon Ruiz, who is committed to Johnson & Wales for next year, finished his third and final season in the EHL in fine fashion by claiming the scoring crown by a four-point margin over Walpole's Frankie Cefalu
Ruiz spent most of the season on top of the scoring list and finished with a total of 67 points (1.72 per game) on 36 goals and 31 assists. In 20 of his 39 games in 2014-15 he recorded multiple points, included two five-point games and two four-point games. During his three-year EHL career he recorded 126 points (73 goals, 53 assists) for an average of better than a point per game.
Most importantly, Ruiz arrived in the EHL without an NCAA student-athlete opportunity and he's currently planning his freshman academic and athletic campaign at Johnson & Wales.
