TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. – It was a goaltending duel Saturday night at Centre ICE.

Luckily, the Traverse City Hounds came out on the positive side of the game as David Krejcik stopped all 45 shots fired his way as the Hounds defeated the Detroit Fighting Irish 2-0.

“Tonight was one of the best games to watch,” Hounds’ head coach Jacek Wilk said. “Both teams played great and goaltending was the deciding factor in the game.”

Cam Givens and Grant McCormack scored for the Hounds (37-3-1-2).

“We played very solid hockey throughout the whole game,” said Givens. “Both goalies were almost perfect and both teams battled hard. We know we have to prep the same way for tomorrow the way we did today. We just have to stick to how we know how to play and be consistent.”

Detroit goalie George Hill finished with 52 saves.

The two teams wrap up their weekend series Sunday at 1 p.m.
