Hounds sign young blueliner Kiel

BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Eight different players scored goals as the Traverse City Hounds earned a weekend series win over the Detroit Fighting Irish with an 8-0 shutout Sunday afternoon at the Ice Box Sports Center.
Justin Abdelhak stopped all 25 shots he faced to post the shutout between the pipes.
“Today, we played a great passing game and the team made it easy for me,” said Abdelhak. “It’s always great to get the win.”
Cam Givens (pictured) and Kyle Winkelman each recorded a goal and two assists, while Scott Luca, Stan Swiderek, Greg Meuser, Cam Fisher and Jan Voves all had a goal and an assist for the Hounds (36-3-1-2).
Patrick Rogowski added the other goal and Austin Flores chipped in two assists.
“We are on the right track again,” Traverse City head coach Jacek Wilk said. “We controlled the game throughout the 60 minutes. Now we take a day off and get back to practice Tuesday to prepare for the upcoming games.”
Detroit goalies Jacob Gorzelski and Kory Dombrowski combined to make 22 saves.
The Fighting Irish visits Centre ICE next weekend for two games – 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
