BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Kory Dombrowski's 32-save shutout led the Detroit Fighting Irish past the Traverse City Hounds 2-0 Friday night at the Ice Box Sports Center.

The Hounds (34-3-1-2) have now lost three straight since clinching the MWJHL regular-season title last Friday night.

Chuck Hicks posted a goal and an assist, Eric Long two assists and Chase Tackett the other goal for Detroit.

Hounds' goaltender David Krejcik finished with 20 stops.

"Tonight, we got outplayed by the Irish," said Traverse City head coach Jacek Wilk. "We just didn't work hard enough. We have to get a good night of rest and be ready to play tomorrow."

The second game of the weekend series is Saturday at 3:10 p.m.
