The Midwest Junior Hockey League today announced its players of the week for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 15.

The awards are voted on by league coaches, general managers and league staff.

Rookie of the Week – Hunter Hodnett, Michigan Ice Dogs

Signed by the Ice Dogs in late January, the 1998-born defenseman went for a goal and an assist in the Ice Dogs’ 4-3 loss to the Motor City Monarchs on Sunday.

The points were his first since signing with the Ice Dogs

Hodnett is a native of Lincoln Park, Mich., and is also one of the youngest players in the MWJHL this season.
