Alpena erases deficit to stun Firehawks Friday night

ALPENA, Mich. - Hunter Myers made 29 saves, including 10 in the third period, to lead the Alpena Flyers over the Soo Firehawks 4-3 Friday night at the Northern Lights Arena.

Jared Kwiatkowski had a goal and an assist and Sam Charbonneau, Garret Bailey and Shane Dawson also scored for Alpena.

Brett Farley and Reed Hamp each registered a pair of assists for the Flyers, who erased a 3-1 second-period deficit with three unanswered at the end of the second period.

The Firehawks were led by single goals from Matt Majic (pictured), Mario Taranto and Zach Eitrem.

Cody Therrian added two helpers and Mackenzie Bruce kicked out 26 shots in goal.

The Soo hosts the Detroit Fighting Irish Saturday night at 7 p.m., while the Firehawks and Flyers meet again Sunday at Northern Lights at 2:05 p.m.
