Grimsby boosted by Currie's play in net, beats Dundas 4-1

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Port Dover Sailors defeated the Grimsby Peach Kings in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).
The two teams needed two turns to complete the shootout.Port Dover overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Sailors was down 3-1 after a goal by Grimsby's Matthew Jambrosich at 2:27 in the third period. Port Dover tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Braden Roberts at 14:07 in the third period.
The Sailors were led by Roberts, who racked up one goal and one assist.
Port Dover forced the Peach Kings goalie Jeremy Currie to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.
Others who scored for Port Dover included Travis Walker and Eric Mueller, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Port Dover were Jacob Miller and Tyson Myke, who each chipped in one.
Grimsby managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Peach Kings wound up below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game. The Sailors were unable to stop Grimsby from sending pucks towards the net, and the Peach Kings eventually piled up 49 shots on goal.
Grimsby was helped by Christian Gaetano, who registered two goals. Gaetano scored the first of his two goals at 10:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Grimsby. Jambrosich provided the assist. Gaetano's next tally made the score 2-0 Grimsby with 19:24 left in the second period. Grimsby additionally got points from Jambrosich, who also tallied one goal and one assist.
Mike Caluori rejected 46 shots on goal for Port Dover. The Sailors incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Jeremy Currie made 35 saves for the Peach Kings on 38 shots. Grimsby registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
