Wildcats end losing streak with thrilling walkoff win over...
Date: Apr 25, 2015
With optional week 3 coming to a close, the Wildcats roster added another player and some questions about the middle of the field were answered. Turner Alston, a senior with a great football background, joined the team to finish off his high school athletic career. His presence was immediately felt as he impressed in the weightroom with his work ethic and leadership. He'll provide extra depth to the program. Meanwhile, junior Byron Famble made the switch back to the outfield, solidifying his spot in centerfield. Famble will likely maintain the everyday job there after frequently moving to different spots during the 2014 season. Famble wasn't the only one switching positions, as sophomore Austin Cahill will move to second base after spending most of the 2014 season at the hot corner. Cahill and sophomore Adam Schwegman will likely be the double play combination opening up the 2015 season. WIth both players only being sophomores, the Wildcats middle infield looks to be in a very good position for the next three seasons. Senior Michael Whitt joins the group of players switching positions as he looks to fill a super utility role after spending the 2014 season as the team's first baseman. Whitt's athleticism will be used all over the field as fans should look to see him at 3rd base, 2nd base, and his familiar 1st base position. The senior's position switch was initiated by the emergence of junior first baseman Grant Parker, who has continued his power hitting ways with another solid week of practice. With official practices only 3 weeks away, the Wildcats are starting to shape up into a formidable force for the 2015 CHL season.
