Hounds sign young blueliner Kiel

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - The visiting Alpena Flyers scored two goals in a 64-second span in the third period to snap a 2-2 tie and went on to defeat the Michigan Ice Dogs 4-2 Saturday night at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.
Jared Kwiatkowski’s go-ahead goal at 10:05 gave Alpena a 3-2 lead and then Greg Wenzel’s insurance tally at 11:09 lifted the Flyers to the win.
Brandon Bihn also scored and newcomer Cole Cosbitt posted a goal and an assist in his debut for Alpena.
Flyers’ goalie Hunter Myers turned aside 18 shots for the win between the pipes.
For the Ice Dogs, Dallas Fritz and Marc Rotondo (pictured) scored and Chris Boyd finished with 41 saves.
The Ice Dogs are next in action Jan. 30-Feb. 1 for three games in Traverse City versus the Hounds.
