Wildcats end losing streak with thrilling walkoff win over...
Date: Apr 25, 2015
The Wildcats baseball team began the first week of optional workouts this week with a new sense of energy and optimism. Monday's weightlifting session kicked off the preseason with a great turnout. With a new sense of energy, the enthusiasm and effort resonated throughout the gym as the Wildcats began their quest to a 2015 CHL Championship. Over the next couple days, the team would continue their hard work in the gym as well as work on their defensive and offensive skills. Over the course of the week, the team looked to make some changes as well as some improvements from last year's season. Junior Byron Famble looks to make a transition into the infield after spending most of last year as an outfielder while sophomore Austin Cahill continued his development after an impressive freshman campaign where he led the team in strikeouts, wins, and innings pitched. The team's top two returning hitters, seniors Sam Brumett and Michael Whitt, will be counted on as run producers in a lineup that will look to put pressure on opposing defenses. After just one week, the pieces are starting to shape up as the Wildcats look to start off strong in the 2015 season.
