The Stephenville Jets have limited air miles left.
The Central Junior Cataracts handed the Jets two lopsided losses in their Exploits Home Hardware Central-West Junior Hockey League best-of-five semifinal at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium over the weekend.
The defending champion Cats opened the series with a 13-1 whitewashing of the Jets Friday night and followed it up with a convincing 15-0 win in Game 2 Saturday in central.
The series resumes this weekend at the Stephenville Dome.
Meanwhile, the Port aux Basques Junior Mariners earned a berth in the final by sweeping the Corner Brook Junior Royals - wrapping up the semifinal series in three games by a virtue of a 7-3 win Friday night at the Pepsi Centre.
The Junior Mariners, host for the Veitch Memorial junior hockey tournament in April, will take on the winner of the Cats/Jets semifinal affair.
