Mariners, Red Wings Lead Series'

The Central Cataracts remain the top team in the Exploits Home Hardware Central West Junior Hockey League. The Cats took Game #5 and Game #6 from the Mariners on home ice to capture the Exploits Home Hardware Cup.
In Friday's game, the Cataracts scored four goals in each of the first two periods to cruise to the win. The scoring parade was lead by Mike Vaters and Brandon Inder who both notched two, followed by Matt Penney, Nathan Mitchell, David Byrne and Travis Champion. Mariners scorers were Tyler Spencer (2), Josh White and Tyler Walshe.
To clinch the title, the Cats were lead by Playoff MVP Brandon Inder with two goals, singles coming from David Byrne, Mike Vaters, Travis Champion and Nathan Mitchell. Scoring for the Mariners were Josh White and DJ Elliott.
Both teams will now particiapte in the 2011 Veitch Memorial Championship. The Mariners are the host organization, with the Cataracts representing the CWJHL. They will be joined by the Champion of the St. John's Junior Hockey League on April 1st to April 3rd.
