Newcomer Gardner fitting in with Bruins' game plan

BERKLEY, Mich. - Trevor Pode and MWJHL leading scorer Adam Jonak each recorded two goals and four assists as the MC Monarchs downed the Berkley Bruins 9-5 Saturday night at the Berkley Ice Arena.
Alec Domin added two goals and an assist of his own, while Bryce Peplinski had a goal and two assists and Derrick Treppa a goal and a helper for the Monarchs.
Jarrad Vroman tacked on three assists, Joe Gibbs two assists and Corey Finnemore also scored in the win.
Monarchs' goalies Marquise Almeida and Joe Burks combined to stop 29 shots.
For the Bruins, Tim Muhsman notched two goals and two assists and Tory Shand contributed a goal and two assists.
Colton James and Alex Anderson each scored once and Tim Wilson chipped in two assists.
Berkley goalie Jacob Gorzelski made 37 saves and also stopped Domin on a penalty shot late in the third period.
The Bruins next play the Monarchs at Fraser Hockeyland next Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
