Ice Dogs top Blaze Thursday night

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Joe Russo and Ryan McNulty (pictured) each scored two goals to pace the Michigan Ice Dogs past the Decatur Blaze Thursday night at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.

Russo's second goal, at 7:36 of the third period, stood as the game-winner.

Marc Rotondo added two assists for the Ice Dogs and goaltender Chris Boyd stopped 45 shots to get the win.

For Decatur, Ty Gehrken, Richard Mischak and Duncan Irvine scored and Brandon Adler chipped in a pair of helpers.

Blaze goalie Paul Stomper, the reigning MWJHL Goaltender of the Week, made 49 saves.

The two teams play again Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
