Taylor Olmstead had two extra base hits, sparking the Torrington Titans (28-25) to a 7-6 victory over the Seacoast Mavericks (24-29) on Friday at Fuessenich Park.
He doubled in the fifth inning and homered in the seventh inning.Willy Yahn picked up the win for the Torrington Titans. Yahn allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks while striking out three over six innings of work.
The Seacoast Mavericks were led by Ryan Gendron's hitting. Gendron went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and homered in the second inning.
Michael Nocera ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
The Torrington Titans were sparked by Jack St. Clair and Olmstead, who teamed up for five hits and two RBIs.
