Both the North Shore Navigators (25-29) and the Pittsfield Suns (26-26) put runners aboard on Friday, but it was the North Shore Navigators that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 3-1 win at Wahconah Park.
The fact that the North Shore Navigators grouped all of their runs into the fourth inning helped them take advantage of their hits.
Kyle Gauthier racked up eight strikeouts in the the North Shore Navigators win. Gauthier allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk over six innings.
Despite the loss, the Pittsfield Suns' Perry Kulaga dominated the North Shore Navigators' batters, giving up three runs and striking out six.
Kulaga (4-5) took the loss for the Pittsfield Suns.
