Mike Bruemmel hopes every outing could go as well as Thursday, as Bruemmel tossed seven scoreless innings to carry the Brockton Rox (29-25) to a 7-0 victory over the Seacoast Mavericks (24-28) at Leary Field.
The Brockton Rox blew out the Seacoast Mavericks thanks to 10 hits, including zero extra base hits. A three-run double by Jake Willsey delivered the runs in the sixth. The Brockton Rox had three hits in the inning.
The Brockton Rox were led by Cale Giddings's hitting. Giddings went 2-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.
John Pena couldn't get it done on the hill for the Seacoast Mavericks, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out nine, and allowed three runs.
