Cretin-Derham Hall rebounded from a two-goal deficit to tie Benilde-St. Margarets, 4-4 (OT).
The Red Knights excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. By firing 50 shots on goal, Benilde-St. Margarets exceeded the 39.0 shots it averages per game this year.
The Red Knights were helped by Nate Meyer, who finished with one goal. Meyer scored 4:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Benilde-St. Margarets. Zack Hale provided the assist. Benilde-St. Margarets also got points from Spencer Naas, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Benilde-St. Margarets also had goals scored by Jack Lawton and Chase Jungels, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Benilde-St. Margarets were Johnny Austin, Ben Newhouse, Mark Kaske, and Nick Austin, who contributed one a piece.
The Raiders did not rack up many penalties in the contest, tallying only one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Cretin-Derham Hall relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Max Jackson, Nick Reis and Derek Olmschenk took 14 of the team's 27 shots.
Andrew Traxler also scored for Cretin-Derham Hall. In addition, Cretin-Derham Hall received assists from Ryan Smith, who had one and Bret Huebner, who had two.
Jalen Long rejected 23 shots on goal for Benilde-St. Margarets. The Red Knights incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Raiders' Trent Jancze stopped 46 shots out of the 50 that he faced.
