Russia uses early goal to top Lake Tahoe, 1-0

Russia took the lead against the Lake Tahoe Blue in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 1-0 victory.

Russia took over the lead for good with a goal by Trevor Alto at 30 seconds in the first period. Nail Yakupov picked up the assist.

Lake Tahoe's Mark Visentin could not handle what Russia threw at him, as Russia netted its goals off of two.

Russia was led by Alto, who racked up one goal.

Russia's offense revolved around and Alto, who put and one shot on net.

Other players who recorded assists for Russia were Danil Apalkov, who had one.

Russia incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. The Blue ended with no penalties and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
