Val Pusteria survives Alleghe comeback, wins 6-4

The Val Pusteria Lupi came close to giving away a four-goal lead to the Alleghe Civette, but did just enough to escape with a 6-4 victory.

Val Pusteria led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Lupi's Joe Cullen's scored at 19:04 in the second period to put Val Pusteria up 5-1.

Joe Jensen was all over the ice for the Lupi, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Jensen scored the first of his two goals at 2:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Val Pusteria. Max Oberrauch assisted on the tally. Jensen's next tally made the score 6-4 Val Pusteria with 18 seconds left in the third period. Olivier Magnan picked up the assist.

Val Pusteria was often in penalty trouble, totaling 12 minors and one major for 49 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 22.0 minutes per game the Lupi had been spending in the box.

Val Pusteria additionally got points from Giulio Scandella, who also registered one goal and one assist. Val Pusteria also got a goal from Nate DiCasmirro as well. In addition, Val Pusteria received assists from David Ling, who had one, Armin Hofer, who had two, and Armin Helfer, who had three.

Alleghe had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on 11 chances.

The Civette were helped by Vincent Rocco, who finished with two goals and one assist. Rocco scored the first of his two goals at 11:13 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Val Pusteria. Greg Hogeboom assisted on the tally. Rocco's next tally made the score 5-4 Val Pusteria with 9:51 left in the third period. Hogeboom provided the assist. Alleghe also got points from Michael Schutte, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Alleghe were Daniele Veggiato, who had one and Markku Tahtinen, who had two.

Kevin Desfosses rejected 21 shots on goal for Val Pusteria. The Lupi registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For Val Pusteria, Thomas Erlacher was ejected from the game. Adam Dennis recorded 24 saves for Alleghe. The Civette incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
