Zaba, Bolzano blank Cortina, 3-0Olimpico Cortina Thu, Mar 22, 2012 Matthew Zaba recorded a shutout against Cortina as the Bolzano Foxes picked up a 3-0 win. Bolzano pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes. The Foxes' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Cortina power plays. Bolzano was led by Stefano Giliati, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Giliati scored 5:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bolzano. Jordan Knackstedt assisted on the tally. Bolzano also got a goal from Brandon Rogers as well. More assists for Bolzano came via MacGregor Sharp, who had one and Daniel Fabris, who had two. Cortina put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Foxes to score on any of their five power plays. Cortina was held below its usual level of production. Cortina averages 2.9 goals per game. Bolzano's Zaba stopped 31 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Jean Philippe Levasseur made 26 saves for Cortina on 29 shots. Cortina incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
