Hogeboom's big game bests Val Pusteria in 6-4 Alleghe win

Behind a great game by Greg Hogeboom, who had four goals and one assist, the Alleghe Civette defeated the Val Pusteria Lupi, 6-4.

Hogeboom notched his first tally 10:01 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:35 into the first, at 13:55 into the third, and at 19:52 into the third.

Alleghe's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Civette average 3.5 goals per contest. Alleghe capitalized on Val Pusteria's penalties, netting three goals while skating with a man advantage.

Alleghe also got points from Manuel De Toni, who also had one goal and two assists. Alleghe also got a goal from Carlo Lorenzi as well. More assists for Alleghe came via Markku Tahtinen, Jani Forsstrom, and Nicola Fontanive, who each chipped in one and Daniele Veggiato, Joni Haverinen, and Vincent Rocco, who contributed two a piece.

The Lupi gave up more goals than its normal season average. Val Pusteria gives up 2.2 goals per game. The Lupi found themselves short handed often, totaling 24 penalty minutes and allowing four power plays.

Val Pusteria was helped by Nate DiCasmirro, who grabbed one goal. DiCasmirro scored 4:16 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Val Pusteria. Joe Cullen assisted on the tally. Val Pusteria additionally got points from Cullen, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Patrick Bona also scored for Val Pusteria. Other players who recorded assists for Val Pusteria were Armin Helfer, who had two and Olivier Magnan, Joe Jensen, Giulio Scandella, David Ling, and Christian Mair, who each chipped in one.

Adam Dennis made 40 saves for the Civette on 44 shots. Alleghe incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mikko Stromberg rejected 22 shots on goal for the Lupi. Val Pusteria registered one goal on two power play opportunities.
