Ritten rides Krizan to victory over Vipiteno, 4-1Weihenstephan Arena Sat, Mar 10, 2012 Ritten relied on the sparkling performance of Karol Krizan in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Vipiteno Broncos. Vipiteno was stymied by Ritten netminder Krizan, who stopped 32 shots during the victory. Krizan managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.02 prior to the game. Ritten excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Ritten was led by Scott May, who tallied two goals. May scored the first of his two goals at 13:27 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Ritten. Thomas Pichler assisted on the tally. May's next tally made the score 4-1 Ritten with 1:38 left in the third period. Thomas Spinell picked up the assist. Mac Faulkner also scored for Ritten. In addition, Ritten received assists from Andy Delmore, who had two and Daniel Tudin, Brad Farynuk, and Ingemar Gruber, who each chipped in one. The Broncos put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Ritten to score on any of its four power plays. Vipiteno was led by Simon Baur, who scored the team's only goal. Baur scored 19 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Vipiteno. Florian Wieser assisted on the tally. Ritten incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Thomas Tragust rejected 27 shots on goal for the Broncos. Vipiteno incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
