Vipiteno falls to Ritten in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Weihenstephan Arena Tue, Mar 06, 2012 Ritten pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Vipiteno Broncos on a clutch goal by Daniel Tudin. Ritten nearly gave up a three-score lead. Ritten made the score 3-0 on a goal by Matteo Rasom at 12:11 in the second period. Vipiteno got to within 3-2 on a goal by Dirk Southern at 16:40 in the third period. Tudin was all over the ice for Ritten, as he finished with two goals in the win. Tudin scored at 4:42 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Ritten and again while 7:32 into the fourth to make the score 4-3 Ritten. Ritten put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Broncos to score on any of their three power plays. Ritten also got a goal from Mac Faulkner as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ritten were Ethan Graham, who had three and Klaus Ploner, Markus Hafner, Chris Blight, and Lorenz Daccordo, who each chipped in one. Vipiteno stifled Ritten's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Josef Niederstatter recorded 24 saves for Ritten. Ritten incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Thomas Tragust rejected 25 shots on goal for the Broncos. Vipiteno incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. |
