Bolzano downs Fassa in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Bolzano Foxes pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over Fassa on a clutch goal by Alexander Egger.

Although Bolzano was up by as many as two goals in the third period, Fassa kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. Fassa got to within 4-3 on a goal by Luca Planchensteiner at 6:51 in the third period.

Jordan Knackstedt had two goals to lead the Foxes to victory. Knackstedt scored at 14:18 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Fassa and again while 18:48 into the second to make the score 3-2 Bolzano.

Bolzano's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Foxes give up 1.5 goal per game.

Bolzano also got points from Stefano Giliati, who also had one goal and one assist. Bolzano also got a goal from Anton Bernard as well. More assists for Bolzano came via MacGregor Sharp, who had three and Brandon Rogers and Marco Insam, who contributed one a piece.

Fassa outdid its season average for goals scored. Fassa averages 1.5 goal per game.

Fassa was helped by Trevor Kell, who racked up one goal. Kell scored 49 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fassa. Michele Marchetti picked up the assist. Fassa additionally got points from Daniel Sullivan, who also registered one goal and one assist and Bradley Snetsinger, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Fassa received assists from Thomas Dantone, who had two and Robert Schnabel and Enrico Chelodi, who each chipped in one.

Matthew Zaba recorded 23 saves for Bolzano. The Foxes incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Fassa's Francis Doyle stopped 27 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Fassa incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
