Val Pusteria uses early goal to top Asiago, 4-2

Joe Cullen scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Val Pusteria Lupi held off the challenges of Asiago in a tough 4-2 win.

A goal 4:31 into the the first period by Cullen proved to be the game winner, and powered Val Pusteria to the victory Ryan Watson provided the assist.

The Lupi were paced by Nate DiCasmirro, who finished with one goal.

Val Pusteria additionally got points from Patrick Bona, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Olivier Magnan also scored for Val Pusteria. More assists for Val Pusteria came via Lukas Crepaz, Christian Willeit, Giulio Scandella, Armin Helfer, David Ling, and Christian Mair, who each chipped in one.

Asiago excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Mikko Stromberg made 14 saves for Val Pusteria on 16 shots. The Lupi incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jeff Lerg rejected 30 shots on goal for Asiago. Asiago incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
