HC Gherdeina beats AS Hockey Pergine 5-3 as Schaafsma gets hat trick

AS Hockey Pergine could not stop the HC Gherdeina Furie's James Schaafsma, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-3 win.

Schaafsma notched his first tally 7:08 into the second period. He then added goals at 2:39 into the third and at 15:52 into the third.

AS Hockey Pergine's power play was ineffective against HC Gherdeina's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Furie's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven AS Hockey Pergine power plays. The leading offender was Derek Eastman, who totaled eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.

HC Gherdeina got a goal from Kevin Senoner as well. Other players who recorded assists for HC Gherdeina were Julian Mascarin, Benjamin Kostner, and Gabriel Lang, who each chipped in one and Patrick Wallenberg and Fabrizio Senoner, who contributed two each.

AS Hockey Pergine stifled HC Gherdeina's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. AS Hockey Pergine's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as AS Hockey Pergine finished with 28 penalty minutes. The leading offender was Troy Barnes, who totaled six minutes in penalty time with three minors.

Florian Grossgasteiger made 31 saves for the Furie on 34 shots. HC Gherdeina incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors. AS Hockey Pergine's Thomas Commisso stopped 36 shots out of the 41 that he faced.
