Levasseur leads Cortina to shutout victory over PontebbaClaudio Vuerich Sat, Feb 25, 2012 Jean Philippe Levasseur was superb between the pipes for Cortina, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over the Pontebba Aquile FVG. Cortina's penalty kill excelled, as Cortina gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. Both teams had a hard time staying out of the box, and they combined for 18 penalties during the game. Cortina stifled Pontebba's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Cortina's defensive play was more effective than usual against the Aquile FVG. Cortina allows two goals per game. Cortina's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Cortina finished with 28 penalty minutes. Pontebba could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. The leading offender was Patrick Iannone, who totaled four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Levasseur turned away 55 pucks between the pipes for Cortina. Cortina registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Alex Petizian recorded 45 saves for the Aquile FVG.
