Lake Tahoe's Catenacci deadly on offense in 2-1 win against Russia

Behind a great game by Daniel Catenacci, who had two goals, the Lake Tahoe Blue defeated Russia, 2-1.

Catenacci's tallies came at zero seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lake Tahoe and zero seconds into the third to make the score 2-1 Lake Tahoe.

Russia's Pavel Suchkov could not handle what Lake Tahoe threw at him, as the Blue netted their goals off of three.

Lake Tahoe's offense revolved around and Catenacci, who put and three shots on net.

Other players who recorded assists for Lake Tahoe were Freddie Hamilton, Ryan Spooner, and Riley Brace, who each chipped in one.

Russia did not challenge the opposing netminder, taking only three shots on net to force two saves. Still, the total topped Russia's average of 2.4 per game this year. Russia's defensemen bolstered Russia's offensive attack, as they bombarded Scott Wedgewood with three shots.

Russia was led by Victor Antipin, who scored the team's only goal. Antipin scored zero seconds into the first period to make the score 1-1. Grigory Zheldakov picked up the assist.

Wedgewood rejected two shots on goal for the Blue. Lake Tahoe ended with no penalties and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Russia's Suchkov stopped one shot out of the three that he faced. Russia incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities.
