Philadelphia uses early goal to top Washington, 1-0

Sam Skate scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and Philadelphia held off the challenges of Washington in a tough 1-0 win.

Skate provided Philadelphia with the game-winning tally when he scored 3:00 into the the first period.

Philadelphia was led by Skate, who racked up one goal.

Philadelphia avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of one power plays. Washington registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
