The HC Eppan Appiano Sarah Pirates relied on the scoring touch of Jake Newton, who netted two goals, to beat the SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan Broncos, 3-1.

Newton scored at 18:07 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 44 seconds into the third to make the score 2-1 HC Eppan Appiano Sarah.

HC Eppan Appiano Sarah pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 12 penalty minutes.

The Pirates got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.
