Bolzano survives Cortina comeback, wins 3-2Palaonda Tue, Mar 20, 2012 The Bolzano Foxes survived a determined comeback attempt by Cortina on the way to a 3-2 win. Bolzano took a 3-1 lead during the second period, only to have Cortina storm back on a Ryan Menei goal 18:45 into the third period to pull to one goal down. In a losing effort, Cortina was sparked by Menei, who tallied two goals. Menei scored the first of his two goals at 7:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cortina. Rob Hennigar provided the assist. Menei's next tally made the score 3-2 Bolzano with 1:15 left in the third period. Mark Isherwood assisted on the tally. The Foxes put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cortina to score on any of its four power plays. Bolzano was helped by Christian Walcher, who had one goal. Walcher scored 8:48 into the second period to make the score Bolzano. Tuomo Harjula provided the assist. Enrico Dorigatti also scored for Bolzano. Other players who recorded assists for Bolzano were Marco Insam, Alexander Egger, Anton Bernard, and Christian Borgatello, who each chipped in one. Matthew Zaba recorded 27 saves for the Foxes. Bolzano incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Cortina's Jean Philippe Levasseur stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced.
