Wallenberg's big game bests HC Neumarkt Egna in 4-1 HC Gherdeina win

Patrick Wallenberg was all over the ice for the HC Gherdeina Furie, as he tallied one goal and two assists in HC Gherdeina's 4-1 win over the HC Neumarkt Egna Wild Goose.

Wallenberg beat Martin Rizzi with a shot 12:12 into the second period to make the score 2-1 HC Gherdeina. Rupert Stampfer assisted on the tally. Wallenberg dished an assist on Stampfer's goal that made the score 3-1 HC Gherdeina at 2:01 into the third period. He added another helper on Derek Eastman's goal that made the score 4-1 HC Gherdeina at 19:09 into the third period.

The Furie were led by goalie Florian Grossgasteiger, who finished with 35 saves while allowing one goal. Grossgasteiger managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.4 prior to the game.

HC Neumarkt Egna's power play was ineffective against HC Gherdeina's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Furie's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven HC Neumarkt Egna power plays.

Joel Brugnoli also scored for HC Gherdeina. More assists for HC Gherdeina came via James Schaafsma and Kevin Senoner, who contributed two a piece.

The Wild Goose excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

HC Neumarkt Egna was led by Michael Sullmann, who scored the team's only goal. Sullmann scored 4:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 HC Neumarkt Egna. Patrick Zambaldi provided the assist.

HC Gherdeina incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Rizzi recorded 21 saves for the Wild Goose. HC Neumarkt Egna incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
