HC Eppan took over the lead for good with a goal by Platter at 8:07 in the first period. Jan Waldner picked up the assist.HC Merano was stymied by the Pirates netminder Mark Demetz, who stopped 27 shots during the victory. The solid play of Demetz will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.5. HC Eppan was sparked by David Ceresa, who tallied one goal and one assist. HC Merano's Charles Corsi stopped 34 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Adler incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
