Ritten squeaks by Vipiteno, 4-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, Ritten escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Vipiteno Broncos.

Ritten gained the winning advantage on a goal by Thomas Pichler 13:28 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

Ritten was led by Andy Delmore, who registered one goal and one assist.

Ritten put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Vipiteno to score on any of its five power plays. Ritten found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Ritten averages one goal per contest.

Ritten additionally got points from Chris Blight, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Delmore, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Ritten came via Ingemar Gruber, who had two and Matteo Rasom, Mac Faulkner, Daniel Tudin, and Scott May, who contributed one each.

The Broncos excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Karol Krizan made 41 saves for Ritten on 44 shots. Ritten incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Dominik Steinmann turned away 31 pucks between the pipes for Vipiteno. The Broncos incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
