Fraser's big game bests Pontebba in 6-2 Cortina winOlimpico Cortina Thu, Mar 01, 2012 Curtis Fraser was all over the ice for Cortina, as he tallied two goals and three assists in Cortina's 6-2 win over the Pontebba Aquile FVG. Fraser found the back of the net 13:15 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Cortina and again while 7:49 into the third to make the score 5-1 Cortina.Pontebba's power play was ineffective against Cortina's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. Cortina surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Cortina averages 3.8 goals per game. Cortina struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 16 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays. Cortina also got points from Jonas Johansson, who also finished with two goals and one assist. Ryan Menei also scored for Cortina. Other players who recorded assists for Cortina were Mark Isherwood, who had two, Rob Hennigar, who had four, and Paul Baier and Giorgio De Bettin, who each chipped in one. The Aquile FVG found themselves short handed often, totaling 22 penalty minutes and allowing 12 power plays. Jean Philippe Levasseur made 27 saves for Cortina on 29 shots. Pontebba's Alex Petizian stopped 16 shots out of the 22 that he faced.
