Quad City downs Rapid City in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Quad City Mallards pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over Rapid City on a clutch goal by Matt Duffy.

With the win, Quad City evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

The Mallards were led by Duffy, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Duffy scored on the power play 1:12 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Quad City. Michael Monfredo picked up the assist.

Quad City stifled Rapid City's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Others who scored for Quad City included Gergo Nagy and Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel, who each put in one. More assists for Quad City came via Nicholas Rioux, who had one and Vladimir Nikiforov, who had three.

Rapid City was helped by Scott Brannon, who finished with one goal. Brannon scored 2:41 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Rapid City. Kyle Stroh provided the assist. Rapid City also got a goal from Jesse Schultz as well. In addition, Rapid City received assists from Riley Weselowski and Anthony Perdicaro, who contributed one each.

Thomas Heemskerk rejected 28 shots on goal for the Mallards. Quad City incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors. Rapid City's Tim Boron stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Rapid City incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with 16 minors.
