Missouri uses shootout to best Rapid City, 5-4 (2-0 SO)

John-Scott Dickson netted the deciding goal for the Missouri Mavericks in the shootout as Mavericks prevailed over Rapid City, 5-4 (2-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for eight attempts between the teams. In addition to the clincher, Missouri got a shootout goal from Dickson.

Dickson was a peerless playmaker for the Mavericks, as he dished out three to beat Rapid City,.

In a losing effort, Rapid City was led by Anthony Perdicaro, who finished with two goals and one assist. Perdicaro scored the first of his two goals at 13:08 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Missouri. Winston Day Chief picked up the assist. Perdicaro's next tally made the score 4-3 Rapid City with 11:04 left in the third period. Day Chief provided the assist.

Missouri excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The defensemen of the Mavericks were also effective in Rapid City's zone, and came away with two goals.

Missouri was led by Dickson, who dished out three assists.

Rapid City's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Others who scored for Rapid City included Riley Weselowski and Sean Erickson, who each put in one. In addition, Rapid City received assists from Jared Brown, Justin Faryna, Eric Giosa, and Kevin Harvey, who each chipped in one.

Shane Owen recorded 25 saves for the Mavericks. Missouri incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tim Boron made seven saves before being replaced by Wayne Savage, who took the otl and made 15 saves. Rapid City incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
