The Tulsa Oilers had trouble finding ways to stop the Wichita Thunder, which beat Oilers, 6-1.

Matt Robinson had a great game for Wichita, netting two goals. Robinson's tallies came on the power play at 13:28 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Wichita and 13:45 into the second to make the score 6-1 Wichita.

The Thunder found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Wichita has scored at the pace of 2.4 goals per game during the current campaign. The Thunder relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Jesse Dudas, Robinson and Nick McParland took 13 of the team's 23 shots.

Wichita also got points from McParland, who also registered two goals and one assist and Jared Walker, who also had one goal and one assist. RG Flath also scored for Wichita. Other players who recorded assists for Wichita were Mike Wilson, Tomas Klempa, Thomas Beauregard, Jon Booras, and Dustin Donaghy, who contributed one a piece and Jason Wilson and Karl Linden, who each chipped in two.

Tulsa managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Oilers finished below its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. Tulsa put 38 shots on net during the contest, more than the 30.0 it averages per game.

Taylor Nelson rejected 37 shots on goal for Wichita. The Thunder incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Ross MacKinnon made nine saves before being replaced by Shane Madolora, who took the loss and made eight saves. The Oilers registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
