The Allen Americans were firing on all cylinders against the Denver Cutthroats, and when the final buzzer sounded Americans emerged with a 6-2 win. The win by Allen clinched the best of seven series at 4-1. The Americans got the win with help from a great game by Jim McKenzie, who had one goal and two assists. McKenzie scored 3:43 into the second period to make the score 3-0 Allen. Jason Deitsch provided the assist. Allen's penalty kill excelled, as the Americans gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays. Others who scored for Allen included Brian McMillin, who had two and Tyler Ludwig, Jamie Schaafsma, and Jarret Lukin, who each put in one. In addition, Allen received assists from Trevor Hendrikx, who had two and Bryce Aneloski, Alex Lavoie, Kale Kerbashian, and Todd Robinson, who each chipped in one. Denver was led by Troy Schwab, who dished out two assists. Allen's Aaron Dell stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Americans incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. The Cutthroats' starting goalie, Kieran Millan, made six saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Kent Patterson, who stopped 15 shots.
