The Rapid City Rush almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the Missouri Mavericks managed to pull out a 4-2 win in the end.

Missouri led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Mavericks' Andrew Courtney's scored at 9:16 in the second period to put Missouri up 4-1.

With the win, the Mavericks evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown.

Kenton Miller had two goals and one assist to lead Missouri. Miller scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 12:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Missouri. The Mavericks had taken the advantage when Rapid City's Scott Wray got sent off for slashing. Sebastien Thinel assisted on the tally. Miller's next tally on the power play made the score 3-0 Missouri with 18:08 left in the second period. Courtney provided the assist.

Missouri's penalty kill excelled, as the Mavericks gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Missouri stifled the Rush's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Mavericks' offense was helped by the efforts of their defensemen, who managed to put nine shots on net during the game.

Missouri also got points from Courtney, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Kellen Tochkin also scored for Missouri. Other players who recorded assists for Missouri were Eric Meland, who had two and Dave Pszenyczny and Evan Vossen, who contributed one a piece.

Rapid City also got a goal from Winston Day Chief as well. More assists for Rapid City came via Riley Weselowski, Rusty Masters, Taggart Desmet, and Jesse Schultz, who each chipped in one.

Mike Clemente rejected 24 shots on goal for Missouri. The Mavericks incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Rapid City's starting goalie, Tim Boron, made eight saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Danny Battochio, who stopped 10 shots. The Rush incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors.
