Baker's big game bests Tulsa in 7-2 Arizona win

Behind a great game by Kevin Baker, who had two goals and two assists, the Arizona Sundogs defeated the Tulsa Oilers, 7-2.

Baker's tallies came at 7:55 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Arizona and on the power play 18:36 into the third to make the score 7-2 Arizona.

Arizona's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Tulsa power plays. The Sundogs outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Arizona averages 2.7 goals per contest. The Sundogs put 40 shots on net during the contest, more than the 21.1 they average per game.

Arizona additionally got points from Matt McCready, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Jeff Kyrzakos, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Jason Morgan, who also had one goal and one assist. Arizona also got a goal from Sebastien Geoffrion as well. More assists for Arizona came via Zack Firlotte, who had two and Karl Linden, Ron Meyers, Johan Ryd, Cody Purves, and Derek LeBlanc, who each chipped in one.

By firing 19 shots on goal, Tulsa exceeded the 16.7 shots it averages per game this year. The Oilers' defensemen bolstered Tulsa's offensive attack, as they bombarded Adam Russo with eight shots.

The Oilers were helped by Ryan Cramer, who grabbed one goal. Cramer scored 17:01 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Tulsa. Justin Fox assisted on the tally. Tulsa also got points from Fox, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Tulsa received assists from Ryan Menei, Sean Erickson, and Daniel Amesbury, who contributed one a piece.

Adam Russo made 17 saves for Arizona on 19 shots. The Sundogs incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Tulsa's Shane Madolora stopped 33 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Oilers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
