The Bloomington Blaze had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-3 win over the Tulsa Oilers.

Bloomington got the win with help from a great game by Travis Granbois, who had one goal and two assists. Granbois scored 2:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bloomington. Kyle Bochek picked up the assist.

The Blaze bested their season scoring average. Bloomington has scored at the pace of 4.0 goals per game during the current campaign. The Blaze's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals. Bloomington put 42 shots on net during the contest, more than the 31.1 it averages per game.

Bloomington additionally got points from Jared Walker, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Bochek, who also had one goal and one assist, Ryan Palmer, who also registered one goal and one assist, Jon Booras, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Jesse Dudas, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Bloomington also got a goal from Aaron Dawson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Bloomington were Dan Barczuk, who had two and Nicolas Rioux and Tyler Gron, who contributed one a piece.

Tulsa's defensemen bolstered the Oilers' offensive attack, as they bombarded Pier-Olivier Pelletier with 10 shots.

Tulsa was helped by Gary Steffes, who had one goal. Steffes scored 7:24 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Bloomington. David Beauregard assisted on the tally. Tulsa also got points from Ben Gordon, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Gio Flamminio also scored for Tulsa. In addition, Tulsa received assists from Mike Ullrich, Ryan Menei, Ryan Cramer, and Michel Beausoleil, who each chipped in one.

Pelletier recorded 19 saves for the Blaze. Bloomington incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mike Garman took the loss and made 21 saves before being replaced by Ian Keserich who made 13 saves. The Oilers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
