Texas outlasts Allen, 4-3

The Texas Brahmas and Allen were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Texas made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and TJ Fox's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

With the win, the Brahmas evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

Texas was led by Fox, who registered one goal. Fox scored 17:11 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Texas. Chad Woollard provided the assist.

The Brahmas put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Allen to score on any of its three power plays.

Brendon Hodge also scored for Texas. More assists for Texas came via Erik Spady, Ross Rouleau, and Calin Wild, who each chipped in one.

Texas was unable to stop Allen from sending pucks towards the net, and Allen eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Allen was helped by Bruce Graham, who tallied one goal. Graham scored 10:36 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jarret Lukin assisted on the tally. Allen also got points from Keith Johnson, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Jason Deitsch, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Allen were Colton Yellow Horn and Scott Langdon, who contributed one a piece.

The Brahmas' Mark Guggenberger stopped 28 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Texas incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Rejean Beauchemin made 22 saves for Allen on 26 shots. Allen incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
