Boron, Rapid City blank Bloomington, 4-0

Tim Boron recorded a shutout against the Bloomington Blaze as Rapid City picked up a 4-0 win.

Rapid City got the win thanks to a great game by Jake Morissette, who had two goals and one assist. Morissette scored the first of his two goals at 15:49 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Rapid City. Konrad Reeder assisted on the tally. Morissette's next tally made the score 3-0 Rapid City with 1:16 left in the first period. Reeder picked up the assist.

Rapid City's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Bloomington power plays. Rapid City's defensive play was more effective than usual against Bloomington. Rapid City gives up 2.7 goals on average per game. Rapid City put 35 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.9 it averages per game.

Rapid City additionally got points from Scott Wray, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Anthony Perdicaro also scored for Rapid City. Other players who recorded assists for Rapid City were Riley Weselowski and Les Reaney, who contributed one a piece.

The Blaze stifled Rapid City's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Bloomington did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season.
