Quad City holds on for 3-2 win against Allen

Allen tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but the Quad City Mallards held on for a 3-2 victory.

A goal by Jason Kostadine put Quad City up 3-0 in the second period, but Allen pulled to within one on Dylan King's tally 10:52 into the third period.

Mickey Lang had a great game for the Mallards, netting two goals. Lang's tallies came at 2:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Quad City and 3:05 into the first to make the score 2-0 Quad City.

Quad City failed to reach its usual level of shot production, putting 20 pucks on goal after averaging 34.8 shots per game this season.

More assists for Quad City came via Brandon Marino, who had two and Obi Aduba, Sean Flanagan, and Jeremy Boyer, who contributed one a piece.

Allen additionally got points from Jim McKenzie, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, Allen received assists from Matt Register, Colton Yellow Horn, and Nick Layton, who each chipped in one.

David McKee recorded 26 saves for the Mallards. Quad City incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Allen's Rejean Beauchemin stopped 17 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Allen incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
