Laredo vanquishes Rapid City in shootout, 3-2 (2-0 SO)

Erik Boisvert netted the deciding goal for the Laredo Bucks in the shootout as Bucks prevailed over Rapid City, 3-2 (2-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for eight attempts between the teams. Laredo also got a shootout goal from Boisvert.

The defense for the Bucks played an important role offensively, racking up 22 shots on goal. The 52 shots that Laredo put on net surpassed the Bucks' average of 25.0 shots per game this season.

Laredo was helped by David Inman, who registered one goal. Inman scored 9:44 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Laredo. Justin Styffe assisted on the tally. Laredo also got a goal from Rusty Masters as well. Other players who recorded assists for Laredo were A.J. Hau, Adam Rivet, and Matt Hanson, who each chipped in one.

Rapid City stifled the Bucks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Rapid City was helped by Michael Couch, who tallied one goal. Couch scored 17:34 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Shawn Limpright picked up the assist. Scott Wray also scored for Rapid City. In addition, Rapid City received assists from Riley Weselowski, Konrad Reeder, and Mike Vaskivuo, who contributed one a piece.

Ryan Rondeau rejected 26 shots on goal for Laredo. The Bucks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Rapid City's Tim Boron stopped 49 shots out of the 51 that he faced. Rapid City incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
