Dive into summer baseball with the 'Jacks
Date: Aug 13, 2012

The Will County CrackerJacks and Northwest Indiana Oilmen met for the fourth time on the season on Tuesday night with first place in the MCL South Division on the line.
After a solid, six-inning showing from CrackerJacks starter Matt Borens and backed by a five-run fifth inning, the CrackerJacks led 7-3 heading to the 7th inning.
Just like previous games against the Oilmen this year however, the Will County bullpen imploded, as Austin Carden and Ryan Dragoon allowed four runs in the seventh. The game was tied at 8-8 heading into the ninth when Dalton Potts and Carter Smith couldn’t get the job done as well. Tyler Hansen and Cody Dykema scored in the inning to put the Oilmen up 10-8 and Jack Cinamon closed the door on the ‘Jacks in the bottom of the ninth to move Northwest Indiana into first place in the MCL.
A five-error performance from the CrackerJacks defense didn’t help matters as the Jacks allowed the game, and ultimately first place, to slip away from them.
Will County broke open a 2-2 tie in the 5th inning with five runs, as Eric Esquilin and John Menken both added 2-RBI hits.
With the loss, the CrackerJacks fell to 22-13 on the season, with the Oilmen taking over first place in the division at 22-12.
Will County will be back in action tomorrow night against Southland tomorrow night at 7:10.
