Zack Wainman was superb between the pipes for the Clarington Eagles, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over the Lakefield Chiefs.
Clarington was led by Mark Gavrilov, who grabbed one goal. Gavrilov scored 10:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Clarington. Braden Gray assisted on the tally.
The Eagles did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Clarington averages 5.3 goals per game. The Eagles' defensive play was more effective than usual against Lakefield.
